We couldn’t have picked a more perfect season to launch this here little web site. School’s out, it’s just before Pride, days are longer, weather’s turning from gray to YAY and everyone’s ready to hit the beaches and pools for summer fun. There’s so much ‘gay’ going on in America’s Finest City that, often, I’m so overwhelmed with the sheer volume of new places to go to, parties to check out and fundraisers to attend that, inevitably, I forget some things that are truly He Said-worthy. But when I do remember all that ‘stuff’ I want to share with you, I’ve got quick fingers (and a blog) so you’ll be informed and up-to-date, AHizz-style, in between our weekly webcasts.

You know, I’ve lived in Southern California for almost 20 years and have been to my share of Pride celebrations: WeHo, Long Beach, Palm Springs and San Diego. Come Pride season, I’d hit the circuit, going from one festival to the next…to the next. It was an annual tradition my first few years living in Los Angeles. After a while though, they all started to ‘blend together.’ The same $15 t-shirts, the same food, the same parties, the same DJs and the same vendors hawkin’ the same big ole gay schwag in each city. I always enjoyed and appreciated the meaning behind Pride and the fun and frivolity of the celebration itself. It’s just that the retail aspect of the festivals had become, to me, less ‘community market’ and too ‘CostCo.’ That aside, I’d keep going back, year after year, for one thing – the entertainment. And, I’ve seen some great Pride performances: Jennifer Hudson, Leona Lewis, Chaka Kahn, Cyndi Lauper and CeeCee Peniston to name just a few. Read More

So, after spending the last eight weeks working with fantastic design guru David Contois of BluSkye Group and programmer extraordinaire, Algen, our site is done. The new He Said / sHe Said website is now live…and we couldn’t be happier. We’ve been broadcasting each week at locations around San Diego while working behind the scenes to get the site designed, formatted, programmed and up and running. What do you think?
