They Said 6/26/12

Executive Producer Ophelia joined Ian, Dustin & Amber on panel this week at our Brass Rail studio and right off the bat, Ian brought up the “recent” San Diego Pride entertainment changes which lead to quite a lively debate on what Pride should be about. After a lengthy back ‘n forth on the topic, the panel discussed Ann Curry’s departure from the Today Show and the recent survey of unfaithful people which brought on a bigger discussion about cheating, lying & whether or not certain people ‘programmed’ to be single. Straying from EP Aaron’s question “would you film a sex tape for $50K” the panel, instead, dissected shitting in public restrooms. Ian finally wrapped up with events including the YPC’s Champagne Brunch and He Said / sHe Said & They Said‘s team sign-up for AIDS Walk San Diego. You don’t want to miss this one – it’s everything!  Read More

Not even 10 seconds into the show at our Urban Mo’s Thursday headquarters, and both Aaron & Ophelia were talking balls (of the testicle variety) and f-bombs. Following a recap of the week’s events including graduations, proms, the Del Mar Far, dancing at Mo’s and grilling with friends, we got down ‘n dirty  about kids’ behavior & parental discipline when discussing the New York-area school bus monitor who was viciously berated & harassed by a group of teenage boys – and the outpouring of support she’s received to the tune of over half a million dollars. We also dished the Manliest Cities & Gayest Neighborhoods in the U.S. and got a special guest visit from the Mayor of Hillcrest himself, Chris Shaw. And, of course, it wouldn’t be a complete HSSS without a few San Diego Pride musings.  Read More

With a full panel back at our Brass Rail studio, Ian, Amber, Alejandra & Dustin were joined again by fab straight girl Jamie Holdings who enjoyed herself so much last time, that she came back for more. In the first three minutes, Ian drops a personal “Breaking News” bomb that even had Executive Producer Aaron stunned. Just remember, you heard it here first. After regaining composure, the crew tackled some hot-button topics including teacher-initiated classroom bullying, Indiana’s bill legalizing deadly force against police officers, thoughts on assisted suicide for the terminally ill, hospitality industry fundraisers, AIDS Walk, Nicky Awards nominations, the Young Professionals Council Champagne Brunch & an Amazing High Heel Race recap. Grab your vino & earbuds as this one’s a doozy!  Read More

Back from the river & some straight-on-gay debauchery at the area skank bar, Ophelia shared tales of inappropriate photos – and behavior – from her camping trip over the weekend while Aaron gave some tips on “juke box etiquette” thanks to the TouchTunes mobile app. Then, we drank & dished on the return of Dallas to the small screen, what $36.5 million can buy if not being spent on Mitt Romney, preparations for the Amazing High Heel Race, Hunks in Trunks at Urban Mo’s (Hillcrest’s adult playground,) the Other Prom and good friends graduating from college. Happy Fathers Day to all the hot daddies out there!  Read More
