LIVE with Frankie V. 8/31/11

August 31, 2011  |  Episodes, gay san diego, News  |  No Comments

First, Aaron & Ophelia hosted Channel 933 FM’s Geena the Latina at our Brass Rail studio, so it was only fair we host the other half of San Diego’s top morning drive time radio show. This week, Frankie V sat in the hot seat and got a little flirty with Miss O, which was making her heart palpitate just a tad. Frankie was great fun! He talked about his family & growing up in Boston, career track in radio, favorite San Diego hot spots, working with Geena, Sonic and his radio cohorts and he very ingeniously avoided any straight talk about his “love life.” He’s a hot, handsome, sassy east coast boy who was a great sport. Watch & find out why he’s now one of our favorite guests. Read More

They Said 8/30/11

August 30, 2011  |  Episodes, gay san diego, News, theysaid  |  No Comments

With all the They Said crew back at our Brass Rail studio roundtable, Courtney, Ian, Jerimiah, Kelly & Alejandra got back to business dishing the week’s news, events & hot topics that made headlines in one way or another. Ian recapped his Summer Splash Fundraiser for AIDS Walk San Diego at Martinis Above Fourth and shared his night at the Salk Institute rubbing elbows with Idina Menzel. Then, the talk turned to football. Well, actually wine – in the form of Charger Legacy 2008 Cabernet – along with Michele Bachmann‘s continued “crazy,” Chaz Bono & Nancy Grace on Dancing With The Stars, Hurricane Irene, the VMAs and a rather frank discussion about the Nicky Awards. Yes, we were completely shut out. Oh well, there’s always next year! Read More

LIVE from Urban Mo’s 8/26/11

August 26, 2011  |  Episodes, gay san diego, News  |  No Comments

Getting our drink & dish on at Urban Mo’s in Hillcrest, the whole HSSS crew tried to stay cool while Aaron & Ophelia sweated through the week’s news, hot topics & events in this little San Diego heat wave. Following Cristina Monet’s vomitous birthday celebration, Ophelia was back at the home remodeling projects while Aaron attended a friend’s pre-deployment soiree at Bourbon Street & then ‘found love’ with Sade LIVE at Cricket Wireless. Big news of the week included San Diego Pride being called out for a lack of diversity at the festival, the BIG east coast earthquake, Hurricane Irene, the sluttiest cities in the U.S., the epic Big Brother backdoor & the lesbian charged with domestic violence for beating her girlfriend with a strap on. Final call for friends & fans to join the HSSS & They Said AIDS Walk San Diego team as the cut-off for personalized shirts is August 28…the same day as the fabulous Nicky Awards! See you there. They Said 8/23/11

August 24, 2011  |  Episodes, gay san diego, News, theysaid  |  No Comments

With Jerimiah still out on vacation and Ian “recovering” from weekend events, Aaron joined Courtney, Kelly & Alejandra at the “new” Brass Rail roundtable for this week’s dose of dish, news, topics & events. The crew went in-depth on some big headlines including Libya, the release of the West Memphis 3, puppy mills in Pennsylvania, meeting dates from sites and apps & some changes to upcoming TV shows. Then, Kelly geeked out, showing everyone her new WiFi baby monitor gadget that she can watch from her smartphone. We wrapped up with a producer question: if you were trapped in an elevator, what person would you want (and not want) to be trapped with, followed by our prep & plans for this coming weekend’s big gay event: The Nicky Awards. We hope you voted for us!  Read More
