The GSGRA-GSDC will be hosting LGBTs and allies from around the globe starting September 10 for a big gay rodeo weekend chock-full of some serious horsey business with a dash a camp. Kelly filled us in on what the Gay Rodeo is and what attendees can expect throughout the weekend including pool parties, rodeo events, dance parties, awards ceremonies and a Boots ‘n Briefs. LIVE from Cheers 8/26/10

August 26, 2010  |  Episodes, events, gay san diego  |  No Comments

A very sick Ophelia braved the heat, make-up, duct tape and cincher to finally join us (albeit late) at Cheers in University Heights where the drinks are stiff and cheap, and everyone really does know your name…no matter how drunk they are. The Cheers crew was wonderful and their crowd was welcoming as we rambled through lots of news and hot topics including former Bush campaign chair Ken Mehlman‘s coming out, the Chilean mine disaster, Meg Whitman’s buying off bloggers, election results and lesbionics. After La Lee showed up with the tiramisu (delish), we dished TV deets and covered all the big weekend events in and around the gayborhood. Oh, and poor Producer Joey had hives. We’re beginning to think someone put a hex on our asses. You never know, the Nicky Awards are this weekend so anything’s possible.

Industry Productions has been a vision of mine for quite some time. After working in the industry for five years, about three years ago I decided I wanted to start my own company focused on producing quality “industry parties” the right way.

You may be asking, what is industry? There have been numerous advertisements for “service industry nights” aka SIN. These are special nights dedicated to those who work in the bar or restaurant service industry (i.e. bartenders, servers, cooks, hosts, barbacks, etc.) The idea is that as an employee in a bar or restaurant, you bust your ass to make sure guests have the absolute best time possible at your respective establishments. It’s not always easy to do. So, to give back to service industry workers, venues host nights for them to enjoy and say “thank you for your hard work.” Read More

August 24, 2010  |  Episodes, gay san diego  |  No Comments

The lovely 57 years young Cristina Monet joined us LIVE in studio for a special broadcast on her birthday. To celebrate the occasion, Ophelia got botox in her knees. Cristina and Ophelia go way, way, wayyyy back. In fact, Cristina is Ophelia’s “drag mom.” If you don’t know what the means, watch and learn…you might hear a few other naughty details about the tawdry twosome known as the Ladies Monet. Oh, and we dished Big Brother, Real Housewives and more botox – vajayjay & majayjay included.

LIVE from Lips San Diego 8/19/10

August 19, 2010  |  Episodes, events, gay san diego  |  No Comments

San Diego’s dragstastic dining destination, Lips on El Cajon Boulevard (Ophelia’s favorite street in the city,) was a perfect host spot for He Said / sHe Said LIVE. Aaron and Ophelia chatty Kathy’d (and Hoda’d) all about sweaty drag queens, gospel brunch, Prop 8 protests, DADT, Big Brother, Top Chef, the San Diego Rodeo, the Nicky Awards and a gaggle of upcoming events, activities & fundraisers in and out of the gayborhood. We brought back the popular Best of Craistlist segment and added the Best of Twitter (Best Tweets.) And, if you listen closely, you’ll hear a naughty little ditty about Ophelia…and seafood.
