While the fabulous Ophelia left us for “sabbatical,” we were graced with the lovely Lady Ajax who filled in for her highness and helped us recap San Diego Pride Weekend. Not only that, she gave us a lesson on the San Diego Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence. We laughed, chatted, drank vino and dished deets on San Diego Comic Con, City Fest in Hillcrest, Big Brother 12 and the Real Housewives of New Jersey…sex tape and all. And, we announced the new He Said / sHe Said weekly webcast on Mondays beginning August 2nd. Go Ahead, Watch What Schmappens!
Well, who would have thought that lil’ ole me could have ruffled so many large, peacock-like feathers. I’ve been incredibly blessed today by the amazing outpouring of kindness and support by so many people. I truly feel loved. It’s overwhelming. I guess you like me. You really, really like me!
Okay, enough of that…moving on.
One of the greatest things in my life is that I’ve been allowed to make people laugh here in San Diego for more than two decades (shocking, I know, especially since I’m only in my mid-twenties.) As well, being involved in so many organizations and activities has been a main highlight. I not only help make a difference – be it raising money or awareness – I get to do it by having fun and making those around me happy and entertained.
Today’s webcast almost didn’t happen when Aaron was sure we’d be in a torrential downpour on a canoe somewhere in the middle of the Pacific and thought we should “change venues.” But, alas, the always amazing Chris Shaw, Mayor of Hillcrest and truly one of our city’s most respected and dedicated ‘funtrepreneurs,’ showed the entire HSSS crew his signature hospitality aboard his beautiful boat docked in the marina – tequila included. We recapped our Fourth of July weekends and Chris shared with us his business roots that have, today, culminated in the successful Gayborhood establishments Urban Mo’s, Baja Betty’s and Gossip Grill. Chris has been instrumental in helping put on this year’s San Diego Pride parade & festival, July 17-18. We had so much fun rockin’ & swayin’ on the boat that we completely forgot our dramamine. And, Chris was such a fantastic guest that he even answered Bo & Joey’s Producer Questions at the end of the show. You’ve got to watch to hear how he answered. EPIC!
Kicking off San Diego Pride month at the amazing Hard Rock Hotel in Downtown was more fun that we anticipated. This show had the largest live crowd, both online and in person, that we’ve had – and boy did they get an earful. We dished everything from sweaty drag queens and San Diego Magazine to trips to Home Depot, Comic Con and sausages…of all kinds. This is just a sneak peak of all the action that the LIVE viewers experienced.
He Said ‘approved’ San Diego events in and around the gayborhood during San Diego Pride month. And, please people, read and heed: sunscreen is your friend.
This month leaves little room for downtime. We’ve got 4th of July, Comic Con and San Diego Pride on the brain. And, throw into the mix a host of other activities and events to partake in and you’ve got one full plate of FUN. Many of you sun goddesses will be spending ample time outdoors at the beach, in the pool or at the park bronzing those bods. Tanlines are sexy, melanoma scars…not so much. Do yourself a favor and use an SPF. Your skin will thank you for it, I promise. Read More
