They’re baaaaack! And a little diff’rent. They Said returned to the fabulous Brass Rail studio for their brand of talk – where opinions matter & sexual orientation does not. Joining Alejandra, Ian, Amber & guest moderator Ophelia is the new straight guy on panel, Dustin Santillan, who hit the ground running without missing a beat. After recapping the month-long hiatus & Easter-Passover weekend debauchery, they dove in to headlines & topics including: Whitney Houston’s autopsy findings, gay ‘unfriendly’ travel destinations, the scandal surrounding the gay couple arrested aboard the Altantis Cruise docked in Dominica, Dinah Shore & White Party weekend, Miss Gay Mexico International competition, Hudson Taylor appearing at Martinis Above Fourth and the countdown to Dining Out For Life. The crew is glad to be back. Keep watching for some fun new segments & guest panelists in the weeks ahead.  Read More

Aaron & Ophelia wasted no time getting their gab on at Urban Mo’s this week. Producer Jay, Production Assistant Nicolas & La Lee were serving fierce behind-the-scenes realness, taking photos, prompting cues & trying desperately to keep Ophelia in check…but failing by most standards. We talked White Party weekend, Easter Sunday and Easter baskets for Family Matters, Car2Bar (Car2Go), the Lakeside Rodeo, eventful trips to Costco, favorite brands of toilet paper, San Diego Flag Football VIP Tent shenanigans and soooo much more. Big shout out to Eddie Rey & Rick Cervantes of the Mo’s family who stuck around to watch the HSSS.tv madness, in-person.  Read More

LIVE from The Brass Rail 4/3/12

April 4, 2012  |  Episodes, gay san diego, News  |  No Comments

Sans our scheduled guest who got stuck in L.A. for work, Ophelia & Aaron hit the Brass Rail studio for some vino and laughs. The Royalty Group‘s Jeffery Kurt Thompson was to appear to talk about the Desert Tea & Giving It pool party events this coming weekend in Palm Springs but, alas, was not able to make it. So, we gave the parties a ‘shout out’ and moved on to talk iPhones, Foursquare check-ins, exercise, Ophelia’s weight gain, bare chest contests & some other events around the gayborhood. We wrapped up by explaining some upcoming changes to the HSSS.tv family of broadcasts, including this very show. The format for “LIVE with…” will be changing, as Aaron steps away from co-hosing duties to focus on producing some new shows currently in the pipeline, including the debut of “Coffee Chat.” The new one-on-one interview show, hosted by Ophelia, is a rebirth of her popular column of the same name, formerly in the GLT. That show will debut in the next couple of weeks. As well, the anxiously awaited return of They Said comes next week with a few changes & surprises on panel. To top that off, we’re working on a new show hosted by the fabulous Courtney Ray that will be equal parts interview, topics, news, sports and all the sarcasm & sass you’ve grown to love from Miss C Ray! So, make sure you tune in to ‘watch what happens’ on HSSS.tv – it’s going to be one omazing year!  Read More

After a whirlwind week of event after event, Aaron & Ophelia hit the Copa Bar studio at Urban Mo’s for our weekly recap of news & views with a little booze. Kicking it off, we welcomed a new HSSS.tv team member, Producer Jay, who’s taking over for Producer Kurt on Thursdays (with assistance from our favorite production helper Intern Nicolas.) In true Ophelia fashion, she railed about a couple of overpriced businesses in the bubble before moving on to talk about her weight – post-smoking – exercise, how food tastes and the upcoming end of Lent…remember, she gave up sobriety, so she’s ready for a green tea cleanse. Then, we talked about recurring dreams and had some help from La Lee deciphering their meaning. Other big topics on tap were judging people, labels and why we insist on them to describe or demean people, big political news re: Nathan Fletcher’s exit from the Republican party and the San Diego Mayoral Forum at The Center and last but certainly not least, Urban Mo’s upcoming 20th Anniversary Extravaganza Eleganza. Sit back, turn up the volume & enjoy!  Read More
