They Said, with Executive Producer Aaron ‘AHizz’ Heier filing in on the panel again this week in the “straight” seat, got down and dirty on the news, hot topics, events & activities making headlines. The Fab Five, each with their own very distinct point of view, discussed the ongoing relief efforts in post-tsunami Japan, college basketball’s March Madness, tolerance & acceptance, understanding our trans brothers & sisters, vajayjays as ladypurses and their expansive capabilities, Johnathan Lovitz’s jury duty recusal as a second class citizen, earthquake preparedness and the reality TV shows we’re watching including American Idol, Real Housewives, Celebrity Apprentice, Sister Wives and more. Ian finished off the chat with upcoming events including the Big Community Yard Sale at The Center on March 26, San Diego American Flag Football every Saturday, America’s Finest City Softball every Sunday, Dining Out for Life on April 28 and the Harvey Milk Diversity Breakfast on May 20. This week, we got our St. Paddy’s Day corned beef & cabbage on from the awesome sailing-inspired Fiddler’s Green restaurant in beautiful Pt. Loma. Owners Steve & Debbie treated Aaron, Ophelia, Joey, Bo & Bodyguard John to some authentic Irish hospitality, complete with the best homemade potato chips in the city, while the two recapped their weeks and dished some news, events & hot topics. The conversation got quite spirited during one of the most opinionated HSSS webcasts to date while discussing police officer sexual assaults, the devastation in the aftermath of Japan‘s earthquake & tsunami, charity scams, HIV infection & responsibility and billionaires giving away their billions (and who’s doing it better.) Don’t forget, weekend sports include flag football on Saturdays and softball on Sundays. And please sign up to be a volunteer ambassador for the 5th Annual Dining Out For Life event on April 28. Don’t live in San Diego? Find out if there’s a Dining Out for Life event in your city. Read More
Back again at our new LIVE With studio at the Brass Rail, where the bartenders are hot and the drinks are stiff & cheap, we got up close and personal with the 2011 San Diego Leather royal family. Ms San Diego Leather 2011, Beanstalk, who won her title this past weekend, gave us all the insider deets and shared some personal information that had Aaron “clinching” a little. Then, each of the contestants vying for the Mr. San Diego Leather 2011 sash – Kurt Wendelborg, Dan Woodward & Anthony Ovaldson – took the microphone to share why the title and the leather community is important to them. Finally, we chatted with the reigning Mr. San Diego Leather Anthony Rollar who’s had an amazing year serving the community and representing the title. Anthony is gearing up to compete at International Mr Leather in May, but not before he takes his last walk as Mr. San Diego Leather to sash a new Mister this coming Saturday at Rich’s nightclub. VIP tickets for the entire Leather Pride weekend of events are $75, contest only tickets are $10, both available online. Read More
They Said might look a little different to you. Well, that’s because Executive Producer Aaron “AHizz” Heier joined the panel this week in place of both Kelly Dorsey who was absent to attend her baby shower, and Chris Keith whose work commitments & schedule have necessitated his departure from the show. Chris was a fantastic addition to They Said and we all wish him well on his endeavors. So, with Aaron on panel, Courtney dove right in with discussion about the big news of the week, the earthquake & tsunami in Japan, while Alejandra gave some tips on earthquake & disaster preparedness. The panel dished other news items and hot topics including Charlie Sheen, gas prices, college basketball and what constitutes hate speech & use of words like f*g, tr*nny, queen, ret*rd & others amongst friends. Ian wrapped up with events including Dining Out for Life, the San Diego American Flag Football League, Two Cents at The Center and more. Read More
