LIVE from R Gang Eatery 8/1/11

August 1, 2011  |  Episodes, gay san diego, News  |  No Comments

HSSS brought the crew & fans back to one of our favorite San Diego restaurants, Top Chef hottie Rich Sweeney‘s R Gang Eatery in Hillcrest. Sipping down a couple of $5 signature cocktails from RGE’s Happy Hour Refueled menu, Aaron & Ophelia winged it through their weeks filled with hysterical stories of camping trips, “river folk,” cliff diving, BBQs for Stonewall Citizens Patrol, the relocation of a sneaker hoarder & the need for a few new Nicky Awards categories. When the monkey bread & pork skewers hit the table, we dished one of our favorite TV shows, Big Brother, and gave predictions on which house guests will make it to the final four. After a few more signature cocktails, we wrapped up with some shout outs to viewers & friends watching from across the land. Big thanks to Sister Lona for helping out while Producer Kurt tended to his “kitty.”  Read More

Aaron and the newly bronzed goddess that is Ophelia shared the Brass Rail studio spotlight with local event personality & gameshow host, HIV/AIDS activist, country singer & all around fun guy, Mike Dinwiddie. Mike’s had quite an interesting journey from office 9-to-5er to aspiring country music star, yet still remains a genuine gentleman. Active in the community, Mike’s participated in two AIDS Lifecycle bike rides from San Francisco to Los Angeles, helping to raise needed money for HIV & AIDS services. On top of that, he’s a social butterfly who mixes his out ‘n about with a little fun, hosting interactive trivia and other gameshow-inspired nights at The Hole including the popular Match Game, which returns September 16th to benefit AIDS Walk San Diego. Oh, and about that country music dream, Mike recorded a CD and this man has some chops.  Read More
