LIVE at our Urban Mo’s Copa Bar studio, Aaron & Ophelia were all kinds of giggles and giddy with Producer Joey back behind the camera. HSSS.tv got an EXCLUSIVE sneak peek at something pretty significant happening in Hillcrest on Friday, July 20. We’ll give you a hint: it involves a flag and a pole. After recapping weekends of fundraisers for Stonewall Citizens Patrol, board meetings for GSGRA, couch surfers, buffets at Viejas & visits to some amazing new restaurants, we gabbed about the closing of Brians’ American Eatery, Comic Con madness, PB’s new 50s-themed drive-in, burgers at Slater’s 50/50 and Hodad’s and all the Nicky Awards nominees. To wrap up, we invited Lisa & Michael from the Hillcrest Business Association to talk about San Diego Pride’s kick-off event, the Pride of Hillcrest Block Party. Advance-sales tickets are still available, but act fast – this pride weekend event will definitely be a sell-out! Happy Pride, y’all. See ya in two weeks.  Read More

With Amber on vacation, Ian, Alejandra & Dustin welcomed Kelly Dorsey, They Said‘s original “lesbian voice,” back to the Brass Rail studio for what was truly an engaging, interactive chat. After getting caught up on all of Kelly’s mommy fun, the chat turned to Anderson Cooper’s coming out, which led to a deeper discussion on whether people in the public eye have a duty to be open about their sexuality. Other big topics included: the punishment for the school bus bullies, parental and role model responsibility, the Church of Scientology, the TomKat divorce and if you could choose how you die, what it would be. Executive Producer Ophelia joined Ian, Dustin & Amber on panel this week at our Brass Rail studio and right off the bat, Ian brought up the “recent” San Diego Pride entertainment changes which lead to quite a lively debate on what Pride should be about. After a lengthy back ‘n forth on the topic, the panel discussed Ann Curry’s departure from the Today Show and the recent survey of unfaithful people which brought on a bigger discussion about cheating, lying & whether or not certain people ‘programmed’ to be single. Straying from EP Aaron’s question “would you film a sex tape for $50K” the panel, instead, dissected shitting in public restrooms. Ian finally wrapped up with events including the YPC’s Champagne Brunch and He Said / sHe Said & They Said‘s team sign-up for AIDS Walk San Diego. You don’t want to miss this one – it’s everything!  Read More
