Prop 8 is One Trojan Horse That Californians Opened That is Hard to Eradicate

The enactment of Prop 8 is a Trojan horse designed with one ultimate purpose: to hack the U.S. Constitution through the backdoor access of California’s initiative process and grant limitless political power to the subversive agendas of the American Family Association, the Alliance Defense Fund and to other religious operatives.

Cisco Systems describes a Trojan horse as ” . . . a harmful piece of software that looks legitimate. Users are typically tricked into loading and executing it on their systems.” On the surface, “protecting marriage” looks legitimate. In fact, people who otherwise weren’t anti-gay might open the message, read it, and believe it, without understanding the malicious imperative behind it. They might think about “protecting children” from threats against “traditional marriage” and without truly understanding what they’re doing, they install a virus that’s designed to infect and control them by quietly running in the background and executing the commands of its master application, that of the hate-filled and morally disapproving religious political action groups who launched it. What Californians may not know is that the real purpose behind the Prop 8 Trojan is total domination of our collective operating system by hijacking the U.S. Constitution and maligning its 1st Amendment guarantees to the separation between church and state.

What better way to assault the U.S. Constitution than by tricking users into executing what looked like a benign application by voting “Yes on 8”? Unfortunately for California OS and the United States OS, 7 million voters opened the Trojan horse and infected their computers, putting the rest of our network at risk. But that’s exactly what AFA and ADF and their co-hackers wanted – backdoor access to control, to power over the American people, not just over California, yet over the entire country. They won’t stop until they’ve manipulated the whole system.

Hackers do this every day. They get unsuspecting people like us to open pictures of celebrities, read jokes and inadvertently install macros that we have to spend lots of money removing using antivirus software. It’s easy to package the ideas. They simply make it look like we’re opening something that won’t hurt our computers. You know, by propagating memes like 1 Man 1 Woman in soothing yellow and blue colors with cute cut-out pictures of happy families, while making gays and lesbians look like child molesters who are out to destroy modern society like renegade storm clouds. Of course we, the easily misled people, would want to “protect kids” from that – even though kids across the United States are educated by harmless gay and lesbian teachers, raised by harmless gay and lesbian parents and instilled with positive morals by harmless gay and lesbian preachers.

In Perry vs. Schwarzenegger, U.S. District Chief Judge Vaughn Walker ruled, “Moral disapproval alone is an improper basis on which to deny rights to gay men and lesbians. The evidence shows conclusively that Proposition 8 enacts, without reason, a private moral view that same-sex couples are inferior to opposite-sex couples.”

What the ruling doesn’t say is that it goes beyond same-sex couples. That, by implication, gay and lesbian citizens as a class must not be codified in law as inferior to heterosexual citizens. If the Prop 8 Trojan successfully infects our laws, then any private moral view held by a religious faction, no matter how small, can and will be legislated by future clever and beguiling viruses and propositions that more unsuspecting voters will install. That’s exactly what the hackers want. They rely on weaknesses in the electorate to propagate their private moral views and impose them upon the American people. That’s wrong. It’s unconstitutional. It’s scary. And we have to stop them.

Thank God for antivirus teams like Ted Olson and David Boies, for the built-in firewalls of the U.S. Judicial branch, and for the logic of the U.S. Constitution. Without these safeguards, our collective operating system would crash. Or worse, it would “clean and purge” our society of anyone a private religion deemed as unfit to be an American.
