Following the gluttony that was Thanksgiving, They Said regrouped at our Brass Rail studio to recap some familial holiday festivities and dish on the big news swirling ’round the inter webs. Producer Kurt joined the cast this week as Ian preps for some big upcoming events and Kelly takes an extended hiatus to care for her mom (sending prayers & good vibes your way, sweetie.) The crew hit the ground running, talking the Chargers on-field disappointments, Barney Frank‘s retirement, Herman Cain‘s growing sexual harassment claims, Miley Cyrus and the passing of our dear friend Sam Cuevas. Then, things got serious with a discussion about local group the Hillcrest Hot Messes and an egregious Facebook attack directed at Kurt that brought up a thoughtful discussion about depression and compassion for those suffering with mental health issues. There were laughs, curse words, pointed commentaries and even tears on this entertaining & enlightening They Said episode. And, we created a drinking game for this show: every time Courtney says “Lady Gaga” or “innocuous” take a shot! You’ll be feeling good by the end, we guarantee.
